Chartered on October 14, 1944, Beta Delta Zeta Chapter (Philadelphia Graduate Chapter) is the sorority's oldest and largest Zeta graduate chapter in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Beta Delta Zeta Chapter is proud to be the home chapter of initiating Founder and International President Emerita Arizona Leedonia Cleaver Stemons. Founder Stemons organized the chartering of Beta Delta Zeta Chapter by recruiting graduating members from Zeta's undergraduate chapter at Temple University (Eta Chapter) and other members who had already graduated, but were not connected to a chapter. Beta Delta Zeta is the only chapter in the organization that owns the home of a Founder. This historic property is located at 1915 Federal Street, Philadelphia, PA.
Beta Delta Zeta Chapter is the graduate sponsors to five undergraduate chapters located at Temple University (Eta), Lincoln University (Delta Delta), University of Pennsylvania (Mu Iota), Drexel University (Kappa Sigma), and Psi Upsilon (LaSalle University). Additionally, the chapter sponsor all three youth auxiliary groups and the Zeta Amicae, a group of distinguished women in the community that support and programs and mission of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority.
